Anne-Marie Ellison is a London based photographer. Her work ranges from portraiture and music, to conceptual projects which symbolise a desire to represent a psychological space and the ways in which we engage with it. She has a BA first class honours degree in Photography from Morley College, London where her intrinsic creativity was developed academically.
Working predominantly with digital practises she is drawn to the interplay of colour, light and form. Her work examines our imperfect world and attempts to highlight the beauty within it. Whether shooting in nature or within the studio, detail is paramount and translated through her careful planning and in-depth research.
The influences of poetry inspired her conceptual series ‘Neverything’ and with its reference, the visual was transformed into something more intimate and philosophical.
The use of 360° photographic techniques influenced ‘Telos’ - our biologically purpose to reproduce, survive and how this can be applied to British industrialisation.
Most recently, the Pre-Raphaelite artists of the Victorian era with their use of poetry, mythology and admiration for the uncomplicated realism of nature sparked Anne-Marie’s interest in the ethereal portrayal of fallen women and her series ‘Come Undone’.
Motivated by her desire to be seen in a male dominated industry; Anne-Marie’s gaze is a thought provoking response to a social climate inundated by thoughts, moments of reflection and is inspired by her drive to impart truth seeking values in her young daughters.
Anne-Marie is available for photo shoots and commissions. Please email via the contact page.
